Privacy notice

How Watersports Safety Coalition handles signatures, moderation, publication consent, contact messages, corrections, and right-to-reply requests.

Last updated: 2026-05-26. Watersports Safety Coalition is an individual-led UK campaign project. This notice explains the current soft-launch handling for personal data submitted through the website.

The campaign is designed so public supporter information is moderated before publication. Submitting a form does not guarantee public listing, and private contact details are not intended for publication.

Signature and contact data stays moderated.

What is collected

Open letter and contact forms may collect your name, email address, organisation, role, region, selected campaign asks, consent choices, and any message you choose to send. Server logs and anti-spam checks may also process technical details needed to protect the site.

How signatures are used

Signatures are reviewed before publication. A submission may be counted as support for a campaign after moderation. Names, organisation names, regions, roles, and comments are only intended for public display where the signer has given publication consent.

Moderation

The campaign may reject, edit for display, or hold back submissions that are unclear, abusive, unverifiable, duplicate, legally risky, or outside the campaign scope. Private contact details are not published as part of the supporter list.

Withdrawal and correction

You can ask for a signature, comment, or public supporter listing to be corrected or removed through the contact route. Retailers and organisations can also use the contact route for corrections or right-to-reply messages.

Messages and right-to-reply

Contact messages are used to respond to the issue raised, handle corrections, consider evidence, or manage right-to-reply correspondence. Sensitive claims may be kept private while they are reviewed.

Retention and access

Records are kept only for campaign administration, moderation, evidence handling, transparency, and legal or safety review needs. Access should be limited to people helping administer the campaign.

Removal, correction, and reply requests.

Use the contact page to request removal of a public supporter entry, correct submitted details, withdraw a comment, submit a correction, or provide a retailer right-to-reply.

This privacy notice may be updated as signing, moderation, evidence review, and hosting arrangements mature.
